Hey, don’t panic, I will guide you through the easy wash process so you can save your precious Boppy lounger in no time.

Before, I wouldn’t have believed how often the baby lounger needs washing. I always thought it couldn’t get that dirty because my floors, tabletops (and my baby!) are super clean but boy was I wrong! Thankfully Boppy loungers are machine washable. I’ve had to wash my baby lounger way more than I could’ve ever imagined.

So, if you want to know how to wash a Boppy lounger and keep it looking just like new, read on.

How To Wash A Boppy Lounger

I will divide the washing process into two steps. Busy moms, don’t give up on me yet! These steps are actually super quick and don’t require a lot of effort.

And even more, both steps aren’t always necessary! If your Boppy lounger doesn’t have tough stains that need to be removed, you can easily skip to step 2. Lucky you!

Step 1. Remove Stubborn Stains

I remember the day when I put my baby lounger on my kitchen counter and I spilled chocolate milk on it. I must say I was happy that my baby wasn’t sitting on it at the moment, but I was still mortified.

What you want to do is wash your Boppy lounger as soon as possible after these kinds of accidents.

I had already lost all hope of getting that chocolate out of the fabric, but after treating that stain with my go-to mixture, I knew I could make it look brand new again. Now that I have washed my Boppy lounger quite a few times, I can say that I know what to do in such situations.

How To Wash Boppy Lounger

What you’ll need:

  • 1/2 cup of lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • A toothbrush or a sponge
  • A washcloth

To remove stains on your Boppy lounger, follow these steps:

  1. Mix lemon juice with baking soda to make a fizzing paste.
  2. Dampen the washcloth to make the stains slightly wet.
  3. Dip the toothbrush in the mixture and apply it to the stains.
  4. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Apply more baking soda mixture and brush the stains in circular motions until they fade.
  6. Dampen the washcloth and wipe down the excess residue.
  7. Continue with step 2 below.

Step 2. Wash Boppy Lounger in Washing Machine

How To Wash Boppy Lounger

The good news to all moms is that Boppy loungers are perfectly safe to wash in a washing machine!

Before I get into the process of how to wash a Boppy Lounger in the washing machine, let me mention some precautions.

Firstly, wash your Boppy lounger by itself. This is extremely important because washing it with other items may cause your Boppy lounger to lose its shape.

And secondly, always wash your Boppy lounger on a delicate wash cycle with cold water.

What you’ll need:

  • Mild laundry detergent (preferably organic)
  • Dryer or tennis balls (optional)

To wash your Boppy lounger, follow these steps:

  1. Toss your Boppy lounger into the washing machine.
  2. Only use mild laundry detergent to wash baby items.
  3. Wash on a delicate/gentle/hand wash cycle with cold water (85°F/ 30°C).
  4. I recommend hanging the Boppy lounger outside to air dry.
  5. If you don’t have that much time, put your lounger in a dryer.
  6. Toss in 2 or 3 dryer balls and put the dryer on a delicate cycle.

In case you’re not in a rush, I always recommend letting the Boppy lounger and actually any baby items air dry. I usually hang the lounger outside on a clothesline because sunlight is a great disinfectant. Plus, the sun makes the Boppy lounger smell fresh and clean.

How to Keep the Boppy Lounger Clean

Well, now that you know how to wash your Boppy lounger, I will give you a few tips on how to maintain its freshness!

Use a Blanket

Well, you don’t always need to invent a bike, am I right?

Since the Boppy loungers don’t have covers you can change easily, I have learned that a good way to keep your baby lounger clean is by using a washable blanket around it and under it. And basically, you can do this with any baby lounger. It’s like the magic washable blanket saves the day!

Take It Outside

For once a week, when you’re not using the Boppy lounger, simply hang it outside and expose it to sunlight. Let the sunlight disinfect your baby lounger from bacteria and the fresh air will also give it a good clean smell.

Store It Correctly

When you’re not using your Boppy lounger, store it in a bag or a closet. No matter how clean our home is, there will still be dust flying around everywhere. One thing we certainly don’t want to do is lay our babies on a dusty lounger, right?

So I really recommend storing your Boppy lounger in a closet or in sealed bags where dust can’t get to it.

Conclusion

As you can see, it’s pretty easy to wash a Boppy lounger.

If you wash the tough stains on your baby lounger shortly after they occur, your Boppy lounger will look as good as new if you follow the steps stated above.

When you put your lounger in the washing machine, always remember to wash it by itself and on a delicate wash cycle!
